About This Lot
Damien Hirst has become one of the most famous living British artists. The most influential member of a school of Young British Artists originating from Goldsmiths, University of London in the 1980s, Hirst has become a household name. His work focuses on the fundamental elements of life, including death and love, which he expresses in controversial sculptures, installations, paintings, and prints. In Covenant, Hirst employs one of his signature motifs: butterflies. The butterflies are arranged in a mandala-like pattern that is meant to call to mind the stained glass windows of European cathedrals. This print is framed to the specifications of the artist by the publisher, Other Criteria.
